COURTYARD ADU

Looking to take care of their aging parents, our clients decided to construct an ADU on their property. The Courtyard ADU introduces a new space that is both private for the grandparents and connected to the main house and family. The streamline ADU is attached to the existing house and garage through its roofline and connected patio/courtyard. The design is a long narrow corridor that is loaded with common space and private space on each end. The courtyard transitions into a shared patio where the family can gather in the backyard to share meals together and connects both living areas.
